Thu, 05/25/2017 - 12:00pm

Thursday, May 25 at 12:00 (lunch will be provided)

Dentons US LLP, 233 S. Wacker Dr., Suite 5900 (Willis Tower)

Join Yale Chicago to discuss strategies for implementing social and emotional learning at home and at work.  The program is hosted by Dentons and will be led by Aaron Schiller, Chief Field Trainer for Yale's emotional intelligence lab.

The Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence developed an evidence-based approach for integrating social and emotional learning into schools. RULER teaches the skills of emotional intelligence -- those associated with recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotion. Decades of research show that these skills are essential to effective teaching and learning, sound decision making, physical and mental health, and success in school and beyond.

Aaron Schiller is a consultant and Chief Field Trainer for Yale's emotional intelligence lab.  He is working to engage parents and families on Yale's groundbreaking RULER approach and will be in Chicago to conduct RULER training at area schools.  Aaron Schiller has over 15 years of experience working with young people and their families as an Educator, Counselor and Coach.  He is the founder of Aaron Schiller Coaching & Counseling, an in-home practice designed to help young people and their parents take on life's challenges and is on a mission to create innovative ways to support the modern family.

The program is free and lunch will be provided.  Please rsvp to denise.hooten@dentons.com so your name can be added to building security.
